1423013 2016-07-13 07:32:00 Why does Win 10 Home not have the option to delay downloading updates?

Today both our desktops basically couldn't be used on the internet due to updates downloading. Unfortunately we live in an area that only has ADSL2 and is not even on the map to receive fibre despite the township growing fairly rapidly at the moment.

It's friggin annoying of MS to do that.

1423015 2016-07-13 07:58:00 Ugghh, yeah. Did a job yesterday and had to reboot and hello, updates. 25 minutes later and no progress made, I turn it off hardway. Pain in the butt. Renegade (16270)

Probably because they know that many people keep delaying and therefore they never get the updates. (Same with all software)

1423018 2016-07-13 19:41:00 All I wanted was to be able to postpone so I could run it overnight.

That really is the only issue I have with Win10 everything else is fine.

1423019 2016-07-13 21:56:00 Just disable the Windows Update service... you can delay updates as long as you like ;) autechre (266)

because we are just stupid plebs who cant even lace our own shoes, it seems :badpc:
there is ZERO good reasons for not allowing this to be delayed , if you have Win 10 Pro you can set it to delay.
Win 10 home owners are just too stupid compared to win10 Pro owners.

its the same reason MS totally ignored what the people(customers) wanted from Win8 . Look how that turned out
for them.

Seriously though,
I think 10home owners can now change a setting that allows updates to be delayed . With 10 they are sometimes listening to want their customers want :)
