1422510 2016-06-30 11:20:00 Well, I can't see anything good coming from this.
Channel 4 is being killed off, to be replaced by 'Bravo' channel.

Bravo will consist of endless hours of Karnashians and similar human detritus.

Much like those 2 shopping channels we have, you're left to wonder "Will anybody ever sit down to watch this?"

The only time my TV will ever settle onto a channel like this is if the batteries in the remote die while I'm surfing thru the channels, and Bravo is the last channel I flick across when the batteries die.

Honestly, it's like the old boss of Channels 3 and 4 (who decided on this junk) was secretly working to the advantage of Channels 1 and 2. How on earth can anyone believe this is ever going to attract a sentient audience?

Channel 4 - death by suicide. I'll miss Southpark and Family Guy, and American Dad, but otherwise I'll welcome the inevitable demise of a channel showing nothing but garbage in place of programming.

This is why we have had Sky for years and years.
The doco channels.

1422512 2016-06-30 21:27:00 I had a look at their Facebook page and there's actually a lot of droids who can't wait for it to start. Would be good if they used it for a reality dumping ground and put something decent on 3 (dream on). Renegade (16270)
1422513 2016-06-30 21:53:00 Between Lightbox and Netflix and other more nefarious methods I haven't watched broadcast TV at all this year. My TV has become a monitor for streaming content and movies and might as well not have a tuner in it.
I know adds are a necessary revenue stream for free to air TV but there's just too damn many of them and streaming services just have so many other advantages.

Over the long term I can't see me ever going back to watching add ridden TV channels that dictate what I can watch and when unless I have no other choice. In other words I couldn't care less what they broadcast because I no longer watch any of it.

The only problem with sky's doco channels is they're full of ads... discovery is the worst, uk tv & natgeo not much better. I guess it's ok if you record the show and watch it later, but watching it as scheduled is painful.

1422515 2016-06-30 22:24:00 The stuff that we do watch on free to air TV is usually prerecorded and I skip through the adds. Dropped Sky when the repeats and adds became far to intrusive. Mostly I just use my Chromecast and the odd DVD for entertainment now. CliveM (6007)

A pity, at US$3 it initially looked like a good idea. Not that I have time for more TV :)
