1423403 2016-07-24 01:03:00 I used Yankee's and brace and bits when I started my apprenticeship the mid 80's, battery technology was only just emerging then in the UK. Batteries took 4 hours to charge and lasted about 20 minutes max so total waste. When I moved over to here I left them in my parents shed where they still reside. I have found a new use for braces thoughI made them into a coat rack for our laundry. I'm making a smaller one at the moment with only two on to possibly sell.

Cool. Make me want to retrieve my bit/brace stashed in my Mother's or Aunt's garage for years. How did you attach the drills to the board? Don't see any screws...

1423405 2016-07-24 03:08:00 Yes, 'Stanley, Black and Decker Group' own the De Walt brand, trademarks, products and all intellectual property, but manufacturing is carried out in China.

I have settled on Ryobi (also manufactured in China) as my power-tool brand of choice after a chequered experience with a few other big names and I remain satisfied with their products.

As an aside, I still use a 60+ year-old Black & Decker circular saw that my father bought (second hand) when I was about 5 years old so that must be a bit of a record!

With these sprayed black like the frame of the brace. 7322 Once the black was done everything was given a coat of clear, I used Wattyl killrust
