They likely won't Surely they can't keep their head in the sand for ever. Sooner or later they must start loosing customers to other providers as they come off contract. Yeah, they will They seem to be spending heaps on advertising deals for new customers, but not looking after the customers they already have. Seems stupid huh? My theory is: Why not look after your existing customers, keep them as customers, make them happy, make them want to stay? Apparently My Republic would rather just have you for the 1 / 2 year contract period then don't care if you go. What is going to be the experience for customers that upgrade to 1Gb with MR in the next couple of months? Likely exactly the same. That's just the connection speed of you, as a customer, back to them. They still won't reach those higher speeds. They *may* QoS it for a little and prioritize it so that those customers initially get better better speeds, but it'll be to the detriment of all their other users. Will they get consistent high speeds at any time of the day and night, or will they also have to put up with 30-50% of what they are paying for? Will the availability of 1Gb improve the service across the board to all customers? Well they're arguably currently getting 30-50% of what they pay for, so it'll be 3-5% MR were great when I joined over 18 months ago. We could run two 1080p videos from YouTube at the same time with no buffering, but now I have problems running a single 720P. Yeah I was looking at wholesaling off them back then too, but I could see how rapidly things were turning to custard :( They answered any questions quickly and even contacted us a couple of days later to make sure everything was ok. Now they don't respond to emails. Gutted, that sucks :( |
