2016-07-10 23:05:00 | Interesting Joe. Here’s something doing the rounds down here which I got from an ex-naval mate who in turn got it from an ex-naval mate over your way. Just wondering if it had any airing over your way and what the reaction was. If it’s all correct and above board I’d imagine it would give Trump a huge backing. 7304 As is so common with a post made by you, it's not all correct. She was elected, not appointed/'hand picked'. She did hold the Quran instead of the more commonly chosen Bible when swearing her oath. The Quran does not forbid all law but Sharia law. Oh, and just as FYI - the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion, something you seem quite keen on taking away.

2016-07-10 23:12:00 | a black person is more likely to be killed by another black person, than by a white or a cop . and by a huuuuge margin. where is the outrage over that ? Isnt everyone just being selective as to what fact/stat they want to rally against You're dead right, a black person is far more likely to be killed by another black person than by a white or a cop. However, the original set of 'stats' posted by B.M. claimed that whites were also far more likely to be killed by a black than by another white or a cop. That's untrue, a white is more likely to be killed by a white than by a black. The 'stat' posted by B.M. is fictitious. This isn't about cherry picking certain stats to support your argument, it's about one person using incorrect stats.

2016-07-11 04:32:00 | yadda, snippity snip, yadda, yadda, snippity snip - Ive never quite understood why US Police are not all centralized under one department/administration for all states, like the FBI for example . Why are there sheriffs, troopers and police of so many varieties depending on the state/city WARNING - THIS POST HAS MORE THAN SEVENTY WORDS IN IT SOME WORDS WILL HAVE MORE THAN FIVE LETTERS Interesting that you should bring that subject up for answer . The US was formed with the idea that the individual states held everything but the trump card in state-by-state regulations . In other words, the Feds stay out of things that do not affect the already set in place Federal Laws and then only if there's a dispute either intra-or inter- state-wise, they stay out of the state's right to govern themselves . It's all part of the 'Checks And Balances" act that keeps the Federal Administration from trampling the laws of each state . This is so no monarchy can establish itself over the states and ultimately - the people . This is why anti-gun laws are so much the current bugaboo - people want to concede that guns are dangerous and that no-one is going to be allowed to own one - which is in direct conflict with the Bill Of Rights that state that every citizen is impressed with the idea that IF a monarch should raise his wigged head again, the citizenry would form militias and take the king out - like happened in The US Colonies v Britain . c: 1774-6 It's kinda complicated in a very simple way: If it doesn't affect the Feds, then the States have the right to self-govern . Thereby, there are elected State Congressmen/Senators, Representatives and then at a lower level, there is the elected State Governor and his cadre of worker bees, and then there's the elected County Administrators that set county-by-county laws into effect . State, County and City Judges are all answerable to the US Constitution except where a local law of any level or ordinance at any level is involved and it goes beyond the Bill Of Rights (US Constitutional Law) . Then there's the City-by-City rights that are not to supersede the County or State or Federal laws, but are allowed to set ordinances and traffic laws that don't override any higher governmental authority's laws . Say, f'rinstance --- that a City passes a law that says you have to drive a yellow vehicle when in that city . That would quickly be shot down by any court above the City Seat Rules group . If a County passed the same law, then it too would be shot down --- BUT the cities IN that County would have to ascribe to that law until a higher Court Of Appeal heard and either voided or empowered that (silly) law . If a State declared itself a (new/silly) sovereign law (like above ^) than the US Courts would get involved at their level AFTER someone sued for the misapplication of such an odious law . (Think: ACLU) In this case - it's likely that someone or some politically-charged association of yellow-haters) would have to sue for the law to be rescinded - this in a Federal Appellate Court usually . ('Appealing to the Federal Courts' to void such a law, that is) . HOWEVER - The US President - in his only LEGAL venue of CEO-type oversight - would ask (think: twist arms) to have this law at least looked-at, and might/would either recommend that the US Attorney get involved and advise the offending instigator of this "Yellow Car Only" law to wise up and if this law wasn't repealed (as it would have to be by this time - repealed, not voided) then the powers of the US Federal System would arrive at the "law writing" offender's house and break his/her/collective knees - or sue them, whichever meets their current mood . BTW: The President is not allowed to make law - something that the current administration seems to have forgotten . He only steers the ADMINISTRATION from an ivory tower (NOT like in: a Tower Of London-thingy) I digress . Sorry . There are four branches of government in the US: 1 . Administrative - The US President (caps, not my idea as I ascribe to a higher authority - but it's considered an insult to use lower-case letters here) . 2 . Legislative - that branch that creates, votes on and passes laws for the US population . 3 . Judicial - that part that creates a body of judges to view/review/imply/suggest/coerce/implicate and generally get it's nose into every aspect of law that affects The US Constitution (caps, respectfully and not necessarily mine) . 4 The Ultimate Authority - The Constitution . OK - The US Constitution is NOT really a branch of The US Government, but if you look at the following pix, you'll get the idea: 7305 Simple --- wot?

Well there seems some debate over whether she was the first Muslim Judge, but there doesn’t seem much doubt that: “Then, in December 2015, Carolyn Walker-Diallo took the oath of office on Quran while wearing a traditional hijab. Photos showing Walker-Diallo holding the Quran at the swearing-in ceremony quickly ignited controversy on social media and blog sites”. So there you go Joe. I’m starting to wonder about you guys and think I’ll stick to upside down land. :D Part of the story: “Summary of eRumor: Carolyn Walker-Diallo was sworn in as a civil court judge using a Quran and became the first female Muslim to become a judge. The Truth: It’s true that Carolyn Walker-Diallo was sworn in as a municipal judge using a Quran, but she isn’t America’s first female Muslim judge. Carolyn Walker-Diallo was elected as civil court judge in Brooklyn’s 7th Municipal District in 2015. Walker-Diallo referenced her faith in a post on her campaign website after she was elected to the bench: “All is praise (sic) is indeed due to the Most High! I am humbled that my community has entrusted me with the immense responsibility of ensuring that EVERYONE has notice and a FAIR opportunity to be heard in the halls of justice.” Then, in December 2015, Carolyn Walker-Diallo took the oath of office on Quran while wearing a traditional hijab. | 1422833 | 2016-07-11 05:53:00 | So there you go Joe . Im starting to wonder about you guys and think Ill stick to upside down land . :D Better keep your prehensile tail waxed then - lest thou fallest off the flat earth . If I'm not mistaken, CERTAIN judges are appointed for sundry political reasons or some politician's brother-in-law needed a job . There's that and that the US is considered a melting pot of 'creeds and kudos' . Or was that 'creeps and kooks'? I forget . If one wanted to, I guess one could be sworn into judgeship-ness wearing shorts and a tank top, carrying a surfboard too . Not defending and certainly NOT affording the opportunity for debate much further/farther - I'd reckon to guess that it is nice to have dissenting opinions some times - for some people - areas of judgement, anyway . Please - just judge me not by my own, personal, accident of birth . |

2016-07-11 08:15:00 | Has anyone picked up on the fact the crime statistics for NZ blacks and US blacks are about the same? Do the crime do the time . For an example - I believe in the 2% rule . It goes like this: 2% of any population is always the same percentage, but the actual headcount varies by the control number . In this case if Montana has one million 'citizens' (it does) and 2% of them are somehow dangerous to your health, and New York has nine million 'citizens', then the number of those 2%-ers is what? 20,000 for Montana and 180,00 for New York City? Something like that anyway . See . . . . it's statistics that skew the facts in that if there is a shooting that is racially motivated in Montana, it's really a bigger PART of the numerical population, but still within the bell curve of the percentages . In New York - not so much . I know very little about NZ Crime Rates, but it makes sense to me that in percentages of the population, it's more than likely the same as any place here in the US . What I've observed is another quandary that youse guys can dissertate (my new word for the day - I made it up!) all over the place about . . . . . . . . . . in states where OPEN CARRY is legal and encouraged, crime is lower and the general citizenry is much more courteous to each other . I saw this in Arizona and here in Montana too . In California where it's illegal to even have a firearm outside in plain sight, owned by a legal citizen, legally, it's mayhem and crimes of opportunity and the guy with the biggest gun runs the town in which the cops are afraid to come out between the hours of sunset to sunrise . I saw the City Of San Jacinto shut down it's police station and dismiss the officers in a single swoop because the gangs boasted of having a contract on each cop . My son-in-law was one of those cops . These same gangs put satchel charges under the Chief Of Police's personal pickup truck in his own driveway . There was a city gas line piped into the police station in hopes it would blow up (it didn't work since city gas is lighter than air and it all got out) . A shotgun was rigged to the chain link fence that opened to the police parking lot to kill the next cop who opened the gate . Youse guys don't know gang or criminal or racial hate activity against the police unless you've got stories like that to tell too . .
