1425210 2016-08-31 00:22:00 Wainui has some stuff he recommends disabling to speed up boot time mentioned in several threads,

I disable everything.
The only startup item I have is NOD32.
I use Black Viper to disable unneeded windows crap and use Ultimate Windows Tweaker to turn off other annoyances.

Windows does have the most bloat, each version gets worse.

Even stuff you don't see, it runs battery checkers even if you don't have a laptop, etc all sorts of nonsense like that, never mind it's own spy and phone home **** it does.

1425214 2016-08-31 02:29:00 jayal, don't post it here, you need to send it to Speedy by PM (a form of email from the PressF1 site)! That way no one else can get into your computer. Bryan (147)
1425215 2016-08-31 02:52:00 I would say the main prob is it's an upgrade from Win7 to 10. You'll always have probs with upgrades. Unless you do a clean install

The other prob is, this mobo uses a GeForce 7025 / 630a chipset.

A few sites say this chipset isnt compatible with Win10. Unless the 8.1 drivers work (it may or may not since Win10 AU's fussier than the previous build of Win10...for digital sigs on driver installs)

Altho this MAY work if you do a clean install. This guy came across the same prob (www.nvidia.com)

1425216 2016-08-31 07:09:00 Slow starting can be caused by various things. Obviously don't know everything Speedy checked, but you can try the basics.
1. Open the notifications - disable them all.
2.Disable fast start up - sometimes it actually has the opposite effect.
3. Try a clean boot -- From the search, type in System, select System Configuration - from the services tab, tick "Hide all Microsoft services " then disable everything else, reboot, if it starts better, then its some program installed causing it, to find out which one enable 1 at a time till the slowness returns.
4.Start in safe mode - again through System Configuration / Boot Tab - tick Safe Boot. This loads only the necessary files to start. Again if its OK there's some program causing it.
5. There are various commands to run to check the System, depending on what the above produces.
6. Could be a bad upgrade - it happens.

Note: Just assuming Speedy has disabled anything that doesn't have to run from startup.
Note2. The driver for graphics, does work - done it several times myself, no need for a clean install BUT you HAVE to fully remove any old drivers. Unless the graphics in device manager is showing as basic drivers.

I'd try the above in the following order, 1,2,4,3

1425217 2016-08-31 08:34:00 Number 2 of Wainuitech's list!
We are finding turning this off fixes a lot of issues.
With it enabled your computer, well the OS at least, doesn't actually shut down.
You can check how long it has actually been running for by going into the Task Manager, click More details and go to the CPU section on the Performance tab.
There you will see the up time in the format of days:hours:minutes:seconds.

1425218 2016-08-31 08:40:00 Most of the entries in startup were disabled, before I checked it out.

Only things I saw, in event viewer (that may have been the cause) were Avast which was uninstalled. Used the tool in safe mode after to remove the rest of it, Because it was slowing booting into windows down. And delaying shutting it down

And this PCI/IDE error. Which may have been the hdd, or it may have needed updated sata drivers. Not sure.

But I couldnt disable windows search, which appeared in event viewer as well. Because it wanted to disable WMP network sharing as well. I have no idea why

It may have been a screwup from the upgrade. There were lots of media center errors in event viewer as well.

Just thought it'd be better doing a clean install, which will (probably / obviously) get rid of the junk from the upgrade. And it may fix the slowness as well

I did a scan with adwcleaner as well. It picked up some extension for chrome as malware. So I removed it

1425219 2016-08-31 10:35:00 just went from safe mode to normal. About 2 minutes from zero to functioning both ways. That's gotta be better Speedy & Wainuitech
I'm happy with that. Thanks to all who advised
