1425406 2016-09-16 04:03:00 I spoke too soon!

No change as yet, so I went back on live chat again and that was OK but produced no answers, so the 'live chatter' has booked a tech phone call instead.

It may have something to do with Billy Jnr possibly going over our current 40GB data cap by a couple of Gigs.

Shame really, I was just thinking that Telecom's help service was improving. I had a marathon call a month or so back trying to get rid of a surplus phone line while maintaining two separate phone numbers. I gave up in the end because I could see our whole private & business line system going up the spout. All I wanted was to put the equivalent of faxability on our business line (simply a different ring tone) while retaining our private number as well, because we didn't really need two physical lines and wanted to cut our costs. We had to keep the business line and number because that delivers our internet. The financial savings are significant and we can always use a cellphone if the line is tied up.

Anyway, I tried again a few days ago and it was all handled from the tech's workstation and was operational within 15 minutes.

1425407 2016-09-16 04:59:00 Well, the Tech Call came and lasted all of three minutes. Appears that their computer did not recognise our plan (Explorer) so declined to up the cap to 60GB. It will be in place by tomorrow morning (but I'm not holding my breath on that!)

If anybody else is still waiting for their data cap increase, and you are on an older plan, you might be caught by the same hiccup.

1425408 2016-09-16 06:10:00 And this is the reply I got after 'Chatting backwards and forwards for a while':

'I've just investigated a little further (with a mentor) and found out that the Fibre100 plan is only available for unlimited now - you've actually been grandfathered, so the plan is not eligible for a 40->60GB upgrade.'

Grrrrr :(

1425409 2016-09-16 21:54:00 Woo Hoo!

The Telecom guy was as good as his word! Checked this morning and I have a nice big '60GB' and today is the new start date for my monthly cycle.

I note also that Billy jnr has already swallowed up 2.5GB of the new allotment. He is not privy to my communications with Spark, and I have no intention of telling him about the higher cap, he'd just increase his download rate and I'd be right back where I started.:devil

Cheers
