| 1422966 | 2016-07-12 21:30:00 | LOL, he thinks he can cook. Basic boil a vege and burn some meat, yes. BBQ - yes, properly. The rest - no. But never mind, he was good at fixing the car, digging up the lawn (by hand) and putting in the vege gardens, digging out and installing the pool, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs etc. Not so hot on carpentry, but hey, you can't have everything, skills were good enough for sheds and the like. I cook, I make and preserve with the garden produce, make bread etc. Nowdays I do a bit more of the fixit things too, due to his age and ailments. Not electrical or plumbing though... Those couples who can't do anything - that ad on Mitre10, "there are 2 types of people, the DIY type and the Pay Someones Else type" makes me laugh. No there are 3 types, there is also the can't be stuffed and leave it type too. One of our neighbours is like that. (Shudder) |
