Just like LED lighting requires many more different materials to produce, and are much harder to recycle, even if it uses less energy to run. |

| 1484672 | 2022-03-03 07:15:00 | It's still an exaggeration even if meant as a joke. That power plant would obviously power an entire fleet not just one car. Sure electric cars are still a source of pollution and greenhouse gases etc, not once have I seen it suggested they aren't. The claim is that they are better overall than burning fossil fuels not that they are completely clean. If the only aim was to stop emissions surely we'd all be walking and there'd be no planes, cars, boats, etc. Even manufacturing bicycles probably causes pollution. I just don't get all the hate of electric cars, feels a bit like the school bully pointing to another kid and claiming he did it too as if that makes it ok. |

I just don't get all the hate of electric cars, feels a bit like the school bully pointing to another kid and claiming he did it too as if that makes it ok. i remember some claim that electric cars are worse on "fuel' due to all the losses in the overall system. i don't recall if thats accurate or not. but like hydrogen, they are only a good replacement if their energy is green to start with. the thing i don't like with electric cars is the fan boys and their BS claims. there is so much nonsense being talked they sound like an "as seen on tv" ad. which of course just fuels the backlash. |

| 1484675 | 2022-03-03 08:15:00 | The claim is that they are better overall than burning fossil fuels. But is it true? I wouldn't be surprised if they're just as bad, just in other ways. Excessive carbon isn't the only pollutant. If the only aim was to stop emissions surely we'd all be walking. I think that's the only way to get it under control, especially with the insane population numbers we have these days. People need to realise that a big contributor to all these problems is overpopulation. Doesn't matter how efficient something is, when it's multiplied by billions. |
