1484243 2022-02-11 05:27:00 Filled the Suzuki Vitara up yesterday . Cost $2 . 47/L using a Pack 'n Save 6cent voucher . So, $2 . 53/L for the cheapest form . Glad I don't run a car that uses 95 octane . Getting bad .

Suzy does around 6L/100K around town and 5 . 6 on a trip . Quite economical . Hate to own a big engine unit .

Jacinda was asked if she knew how much more it cost for a fill at current prices . A little aloof, she said "I don't know, I drive an electric car . "
Wouldn't have thought she had a degree in communication?

Anyway, how is affecting you folk?

Ken ;)

1484244 2022-02-11 06:14:00 Glad I don't run a car that uses 95 octane.

I just bought a car that uses 95 - a 2014 Golf.

It's very easy on the gas, and cheaper than my Commodore that used 91, but the hardest part is finding gas stations that sell 95 at a reasonble price, which cuts out all Shell stations.

My local Gull is out, though the Allied on Petone foreshore is pretty good.

1484245 2022-02-11 06:31:00 I only fill up about every 6 weeks so it's been a bit of a shock how much it leaps up between fills. A bit over a year ago when I first got the car it was around $65 to fill, last time it was over $80 for the first time. Mine is a very economical car with a small tank (around 32L is the most I've ever got into it) so I shudder to think what some are paying.

I use the Gaspy app to get an Idea of prices, cheapest it shows around Hamilton right now is $2.497 at New World

1484246 2022-02-11 07:26:00 Yeah allblack, I've recently got a new-to-me 95 octane machine, and I know what you're saying especially as in Auckland, there's usually a good 25 c/L price hike for 95 (about what the others charge for 91). My machine should take 98, but will happily coexist with 95. The best deal locally is Gull, although I have found Gull doesn't always have 95 depending on the station.. If anyone in Auckland is interested, Gull in Neilson St (Onehunga) does have 95 pumps although they only have two dispensers for 95 (all the rest are 91 or 98). The two 95 dispensers are in the corner closest to the Neilson St/ Capt Springs Rd intersection. And, like Dugimodo has also mentioned, Gaspy is a godsend when you need to watch your $$$ at the pump. 1484248 2022-02-11 07:45:00 Sorry if my last post is a bit convoluted/ non-sensical. I ran out of time making changes. So view the post as a challenge to decipher what I was really rabbiting on about LOL WalOne (4202)
1484249 2022-02-11 08:09:00 I'm lucky in that I can cycle to work most days, plus we have an EV that gets used for just about all our day to day driving. My car takes 95, but usually only need to fill it every 6-8 weeks. So not a great effect on us overall, but you really notice the increase when you don't really pay attention for weeks at a time & then go to fill up.

Luckily the kids are no longer at home, because back then we had 2 wee sporty hatchbacks that took 98, plus another that took 91. Plus we put a lot more k's on them all. The prices now are pretty eye-watering.

1484250 2022-02-11 18:56:00 . Cost $2 . 47/L using a Pack 'n Save 6cent voucher .

Haven't since coming back .
I noticed in Auckland prices were only 2c more than here .

West Auckland and I know it was normally cheaper over Otahuhu way . . .
Son has a 95/98 car . He fills at Pak N Save too . In Auckland . He says Gull makes the car smoke on choke and won't use their petrol . It's a c200 Mercedes .

Me and the other half did a weekend trip from Auckland to Wellington and back and it cost us $180 for petrol for the return trip. This was in December 2020. I drive a 1.8L Corolla that uses 91.

1484252 2022-02-11 23:14:00 My 1000cc car does about 45 miles gallon and I fill it up every 6 weeks or so. I should use 95/98 it pinks a lot on 91 but its still going good. 10 years so far. prefect (6291)
