1484211 2022-02-09 17:29:00 I wish they would stop calling all these things milk. It isn't milk comes from mammals, the EU at least have made it law that the alternatives can't be called milk, the first useful thing they have ever done. gary67 (56)

What is wrong with cow's milk? I drink three litres of cow's milk a week. I have no problems. Why would I want an alternative? Besides, I like the taste.

And I quite agree with the EU. If it is not milk it should not be called milk.:groan:

Milk does not come from a nut or vegetable.

In Bali when I went, no idea what their milk is, but it was vile. I had tea black the whole time.
No not powder either cause I use that here and it isn't like that.

Not everyone can drink animal milk! A friend of mine is allergic and can only have unsweetened almond milk.

Personally, I really like Vitasoy original soy milk - has kelp and malt in it. I don't actually think cow's milk tastes all that great, for drinking. Works alright in yogurt and cheese though.

As for the name, what else would you call a soy or other plant milk? Its purpose is as an alternative for animal milk, the name makes sense to me given its culinary usage.

Cheese well.....I guess if you want other dairy.

List of ideas for calling it something other than "milk"

Assuming I did drink black tea in any form, which I don't, why wouldn't I just use soy etc in it?
