| 1482647 | 2021-12-05 21:01:00 | For several years I have been using Acronis to backup my whole computer to two external hard drives alternately on Monday and Thursday. Recently the name has changed from "Acronis true image to "Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office". Since then I almost always receive an error message saying something like "An error occurred ..." and asking for feedback on a problem that I couldn't identify. It also wanted a system report attached to the report, which was too big! after closing the error Acronis eventually fires up, and apparently functions correctly. | Brucem (8688) | ||

Exactly, seen way to many times people make backups and think they are good only to find they have failed. and apparently functions correctly. Yeahhhhhhhh I wouldn't trust it. Remember once years ago a person doing regular Backups with Acronis, when required they all failed /Corrupted, when contacting Acronis their response was "not our fault you should have regularly checked they were actually working" In other words tough luck. :groan: Thats just one thing I like about Macrium -- When installing you have the option to install viBoot -- Its their virtual machine that can boot the backups into a Virtual Machine. You Need Hyper-V installed, which comes with Windows Professional. BUT if you only have Home Editions its easy enough to install Hyper-V. Here ya go in case interested :) www.itechtics.com |

You can do the following:- * Back up to an Image. * Clone * Back up files. * Mount images as a drive. * Repair boot loader * Change the position of a partition, much faster than moving it. e.g. just drag the partition to the new position on a blank drive. * It's free. |

Just wondered if Macirum have realised how many people now use Linux. |

Most software manufactures wont make or develop software for a minor number of users or no return. Some do , but also charge for it, EG; Shadow Protect, (By StorageCraft) and we all know how some Linux users want everything for free :p The REAL Linux Users and System Administrators who take care of Linux Servers, and by that I mean non general User know how to do backups / Images. |

Sorry to say but Linux is not as popular as your twisted mind thinks it is. As I said "IF" it was worth software manufactures creating a program for {What Ever} then they would. If you are so concerned then maybe you should actually create or suggest something for Linux. We know you wont because as per normal all you can do is cry and troll about it and never give any helpful answers. |
