1481938 2021-11-10 19:23:00 I'm thinking of giving my old (but still perfectly useable) Android phone to a needy friend. I'm planning to do a factory reset first, but is there anything else I need to think about? Tony (4941)

Ha! I was about to ask the same question. I looked on my Google DAshboar5d and the only hardware reference I could find was to my current phone.

If it is not there you should not have a problem. I sold a phone on TM a few years back and although I had done the Factory Reset bit the new owner could not use it until I went in and deleted it from the list of hardware held by Google. If you have never used it with your Google account I guess that does not apply.

So this is from the Google Dashboard, right? Can you give us a step-by step?

1481944 2021-11-11 06:31:00 Go into your google account on your PC and under the security tab, scroll down to Your devices.

Mine shows my laptop, my Linux desktop and my J8 phone only.

Thanks guys.

1481947 2021-11-15 01:17:00 Nice. I got a phone a couple of years back that acted like I needed to set it up, so when I did it had all the owners contacts on it. the_bogan (9949)
