1484486 2022-02-27 19:23:00 Must be a bit of a worry for the protesters about how long this is dragging out. Their employers must be very tolerant of them having so much time off work and most of them will have used up their annual leave by now. Perhaps we could start up a give a little fund for them.

It is a thing I worry about!

No. You can have an opinion, it's when you accumulate crowds of people - some with different opinions and agendas and start riots that's an issue.

A fair number of them are protesting because the Government has forced them out of their jobs with a mandate which has now been labeled as illegal. A lot more have lost their jobs or their business because of the lock downs destroying place of business.

There is a big difference between those of us who have a secure income either from our own effort or from government employment and those who actually have to work to provide for their families.

The Government is employed by us not the other way around. At the very least they have an obligation to listen to all not just those that are in agreement with them.

There's no stopping everyone having an opinion, my point is the idea that they are "entitled to it" is ludicrous.
It's painfully obvious to most intelligent people that some peoples opinions are more valuable than others and that a lot of opinions (possibly this one :)) are completely worthless regardless of how "entitled" their owners may feel.

Honestly I don't know where I'm going with this, it just frustrates me sometimes how some vocal minorities cause so much hassle for no apparently good reason.

Of course that only works if you let the Government do your thinking for you rather than thinking for yourself.

Of course if you choose to ignore 99% of doctors & scientists , then you need to look in the mirror to see where the issue lies

If you choose to ignore the millions of dead
ignore what happened in cities when it was out of control & they couldnt cope with all the dead , they put them in refrigerated containers(New York) or trucked them out in army trucks (Italy)

If you would rather believe some unknown dude on the internet .....

the 90% of the population make the rules
NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND

You are exaggerating your percentages once again and by a lot. I have no problem with believing experts so long as I know who is paying them. I do have a problem with beliving what is shown on TV in particular and the internet in general. They have been caught far to often selecting out of context and sometimes deliberately false information. ie TV reports of the current protest in Wellington give a completely different impression than footage taken by members of the public.

standard anti-vaxx, everyone else is paid off. you can only trust our sources. gas lighting much?

i deal with this a fair bit in my industry. media can be full of BS because the people they interview or get their info from are fruit cakes.
had one that ran bogus articles in the media for years. the guys business went bust because he was crap and didn't know how to do anything. of course he blamed everyone else.
it cost a lot of other people to go clean up his mess.
