I tried the Clean install using the Bootable USB method, and it works brilliantly, on an old PC.

I am now tempted to install it on my main PC which is also NOT met MS's requirements. :)

Thought of doing an Upgrade will keep all my programs and settings.

Thought of doing an Upgrade will keep all my programs and settings. It usually does, done a couple of my own like that, all are Non-compliant.

If you use the Script and select Auto upgrade, all that does is download the Whole ISO and unpacks it to a hidden folder on the C Drive Called $Windows.~ws. Where as if you download the ISO and either do that separately or Create a USB Drive, it saves having to download it again for other computers should you decide to change them as well.

That hidden file can be removed later removing around 4GB of disk space.

The scripted Version (which ever method used) has inbuilt command files that run and bypass the upgrade hardware check, apart from that its a standard Download from Microsoft..

1481935 2021-11-14 01:02:00 Does it mean that the Upgrade will start immediately when it finishes the download?

Will it take much longer time to complete than doing a fresh install?

1481936 2021-11-14 01:13:00 Honestly cant remember with the Auto Upgrade, only ever done 1 and that was only to see how it would go.

Usually a Fresh install is Quicker, as it doesn't have to move /save the Original OS. BUT with a fresh install you have to reinstall any programs you want, where as a Upgrade should keep them ( compatible programs anyway) .
