1484883 2022-03-13 21:53:00 Yes, well to anyone extremely right wing every viewpoint is seen as left wing and red so I really think that naming, Red Radio, is typical right wing smearing.

Asking that peoples needs are taken into account in policy making is not left wing thinking it's just reasonable to ask a government to represent the needs of the people, if they're not doing that then what are they doing?

What we normally have, representing the needs of the business community I suppose and of course.

In other words national party agenda.

.

if the hat fits . . .
if it quacks like a duck . . .

thinking that there is no left wing political bias in certain media is extremely naive .

Just as the no . 1 talkback radio station is extremely right wing biased .
Print media also follows the political bias of its owners / editors / reporters (right wing biased newspaper in Ak ?)

RNZ is not "independent radio" .
It relies on govt handouts to survive .

1484886 2022-03-17 05:03:00 I listen to RNZ as my main station - good variety - detailed interviews . One of the " create something for young people" There is Music 101 on Saturday afternoons on RNZ - lots of new artists and interviews. There is a multitude of private radio stations for young people -if they can be bothered.- so much done on phones and tablets.
In my opinion this is more "dumbing down" and will merely create HO bureaucracy. Govt has plenty of other problems it needs to fix as more priority. -shades of Parkinson's law

Music 101 also plays close to midnight. Not sure if it's the same as the afternoon one. Was pleasantly surprised how they covered a few local(well NZ based) Black metal bands a few times. A good variety
