2021-12-09 00:39:00 | Good morning, 1101, but, it worked perfectly fine with my old Win10 (before I upgraded to Win11 recently) from day 1 since I bought this Printer. Quite used how the way it works; but, anyway, I got to change my good old habit. Could be as 1101 suggested, smb could be the issue. SMB by default is turned off due to outdated and just a tad insecure.;) the upgrade to W11 may have disabled it again. You Can check by going into the OLD control Panel ( in search type in control) Then from programs and Features - Top left " Turn windows features on or Off" Scroll down look for SMB, turn back on again, a tick is ON ( if Off) after it reboots try again.

2021-12-09 02:01:00 | even enabling SMB1 in later Win10 builds doesnt allways work properly . MS really stuffed it with some new bugs that they are now never going to fix (in Win10 ) . The other option is seeing if there is newish a Firmware update for the printer . edit, there is a firmware update . Allways a small risk with firmware updates though support.brother.com

2021-12-10 02:36:00 | Thanks, 1101. Checked my Firmware is version W and the latest available is X. Do you think that Wireless connection should be OK ? The website only says 'USB' and 'Network' connections, no mention about wireless network.

2021-12-11 02:13:00 | For some reason Scanning Via Wireless Connections can give some weird / Odd problems, espicially from the Printer to PC, but other way around is more stable. Just a "maybe" thought -- Is Network discovery still turned on ? When Sending from the printer to the PC its basically sending to a Network folder, where as Scanning from the PC FROM the Scanner is pulling from the scanner

2021-12-11 03:28:00 | Thanks, guys. After some fiddling around, I managed to get it all working: I uninstalled the software/drivers using their Brothers Utilities/Uninstall. Then reinstalled. All the functions are working OK. However, I can't see any way I can configure where to store the scanned files. It automatically goes to: This PC >Pictures >Control Center4 >Scan . Surely, there's a way to specify where I want to store the file??

2021-12-11 06:16:00 | haven't looked ( don't have control Center installed) but scroll down to How to change settings for Scan to File: support.brother.com | wainuitech (129) | |
2021-12-12 19:43:00 | Surely, there's a way to specify where I want to store the file?? You can change that setting. However, there used to be a bug in older versions of the software where changing the saved scan location caused issues , so I allways now leave it as is & add a shortcut to that folder on the desktop .
