| 1482561 | 2021-11-29 08:28:00 | Tony, if I still had the brain power I had in 1973, this would have been pretty simple; there was a program XTGold that would open up any file, hex of plain english, where you could go in and site the actual password. It XTGold was bought out by ZTreeGold and still did the same thing. lurking. ps. Speedy popped in here yesterday and I bet he could do it for you with TeamViewer. lurks. Ah, XTgold, how well I remember. 1973 though? Seems a bit early. Teamviewer is on my list of possible tools. |

Depends on what browser - Most these days are simple to get the saved passwords. Note saved passwords, if they are not Saved then they cant be recovered. Edge for example; Open Edge, click on the three dots top right - Settings - Passwords - Click on the Eye = Password If you have a log in password that is prompted for. Firefox, Chrome similar. 11213 |

| 1482566 | 2021-11-29 20:11:00 | Its all complete speculation untill someone eyeballs the issues . :) EXACTLY, often not all or Mis-information is given. Like yesterday, doing a job and the person couldn't get the Covid Passport on the phone. Her Daughter who "knows it all" said it not possible, phones to old. Had to laugh to myself -- She was trying to use the Android options when it was clearly an iphone  |

| 1482568 | 2021-11-30 20:10:00 | The thing is, I don't know exactly what the access issues are, and she doesn't yet have the vocabulary to properly describe them. That is why I've told her to talk to her IT instructor, and maybe I'll have a Zoom/Teamviewer session. She is reluctant to just wipe everything, as that feels like she is deleting her late husband. Also he was an ex-fireman, and there is this huge archive and database of fire service related stuff that I suspect would be of interest to a lot of other fire service buffs. I know one time he actually had an enquiry from a government department for some information that they didn't have! |

Until its actually known whats required I'd suggest she touches nothing. There's no was shes going to stumble in and bypass security. As for recovery of the data - unless its encrypted EVERYTHING should be recoverable in its current state. As mentioned before Get someone who actuality knows what they are doing. It may be all good intentions for some people, BUT they can also do more damage than good. |
