1482399 2021-11-25 03:00:00 If I am forced over to fibre due to POTS discontinuation, I would be going to Spark's Fibre Max. Agent_24 (57)
1482400 2021-11-25 05:15:00 20 Mbit upload is a bit lame these days, what with online backups etc. And worse than the 30Mbit I get on old VDSL!

I'd go for something with 50Mbit upload at least. Or just get a Fibre max plan etc.

I have thought about paying that $15 more for gigabit but we just don't do much uploading. Like many NZ households I guess. We consume internet and videos etc but we really hardly do any uploading apart from my JPEG 900kb upload to a photography discussion forum or upload onto Facebook / Instagram. Google Drive / Dropbox I do use for backup just in case but it is really just once a month with that 500MB or so.

Fair enough, my backups are a bit bigger than that. I currently have something closer to 500GB stored on Backblaze. From two laptops and several desktops, plus other miscellaneous files.

1482402 2021-11-25 09:17:00 I would avoid Vodafone but then that's because I used to work with them and they made my life horrible.. Ninjabear (2948)
1482403 2021-11-30 20:03:00 I would say avoid Vodafone .
.

They have a reputation for terrible customer service.

How about Voyager? Good service, good prices....

We only changed as we got a better deal with our Sky sub.
