1484976 2022-03-14 06:05:00 He is booked for his final vet visit tomorrow.
No quality of life now. My 3rd and last cat that moved with me.

He was a lovely boy...........

Aged mum going to be assessed soon. That's another bit of stress. I had a bit of a break for a few days, back now and sick. No not covid.....even though I'm avoiding people due to the panics.....got shopping delivered etc.

My break didn't involve contact with people, I did go over that awful Napier to Taupo hill though.
Ugh.

Scary.
Foggy as, couldn't see more than a couple of feet in parts......right up the scary bit too.
Roadworks , a few, one down to dirt, my car is filthy. I';m letting the drizzle wash it for now.

I followed the speed recommendations to the letter, theres quite a few of those flashy signs now, SLOW and it flashes at you until happy with speed.11279

1484977 2022-03-14 07:55:00 My heart is with you and Hoover. Cats and dogs are always our best mates and I have shed a few tears over mine in the past. All thoughts for you tomorrow.

1484978 2022-03-14 09:07:00 As I departed

I saw you weeping.

Cry a bit, then

no more tears.

Know I lived life

Joyous in your keeping,

And you were mine,

For all those years.

1484979 2022-03-15 23:26:00 Yes, thanks.
We keep expecting him, listen for him.

Can't be a no cat house, so going to see a possible at the SPCA on Friday. Not a kitten but not old, been waiting for a home for ages apparently.

Never the same, but a new cat buddy will help fill the void.

1484980 2022-03-16 21:11:00 Best luck with the new cat, will be very good for your family and the cat itself will greatly benefit having a home and owner instead of sitting in a confined cage waiting. zqwerty (97)
1484981 2022-03-16 21:58:00 +1 I'm sure you'll find yourself a nice new Buddy :)

I have thought of another Corgi but I would want to start with a pup. That would to strenuous for me I feel.

1484982 2022-03-16 22:55:00 Yeah, we picked one for that reason, not been chosen for ages. I can't see a problem, looks like a regular black cat to me....

Kenj: Older dogs at least have been house trained, and would bond with you quickly.....

1484983 2022-03-16 23:29:00 Yes, we babysit a 5 yr old Corgi boy whose Mum's health is pretty fragile. She wants us to have him if needs be. He is a lovely boy and unlike SWMBO, is very obedient. Just wait and see we feel.

1484985 2022-03-17 04:52:00 My younger daughter lured -we think - or he nosied in from next door. He (Basil) ound out he was super welcome and when neighbours left -said "you keep him since he basically now lives with you". unfortunately he was old and whilst had not been mistreated had not been given what we thought adequate care .He died after 18 months with us in 2017 -daughter (22) was distraught. We put him on ice and had a funeral service for him at Selwyn Library opposite Anglican Cathedral ,Parnell. We each got up and spoke about him -flowers displayed had a Slideshow of him with Elton John's Your Song accompanying.
1 year later daughter got a 5month old female kitten from SPCA. Super spoilt from day 1 and we had a birthday party for her at age 1 --videoed and we all sang Happy Birthday. May seem silly to some people but animals can be an integral part of the family bringing great joy. FYI ,Piroska we had Basil cremated and his ashes put in an urn. Daughter still lights a candle and buys some flowers by his urn (with his photo) each year on anniversary of his death..
