| 1484662 | 2022-03-01 22:04:00 | Just had another visit from a meter reader person, to read the electricity meter. Not for the first time, but only very recently these visits have started happening. We haven't seen meter readers for years and years. What has changed? The board has a modern looking Metrix Smart Metering and Data Services meter. |

| 1484666 | 2022-03-01 23:03:00 | Just looking on Mercury's Site, under the FAQ Why Do you need to Read my Meter It's the best way to provide you with an accurate bill. If we can read your meter, we can make sure that you pay only for the energy you actually use. In addition the Government requires us to read your meter on a regular basis. As for recognize the actual Reader "Our new meter readers will be wearing a bright orange uniform with ID clearly indicating they represent AD Riley. " Ours never gets read by a person, we are with Genisis, who use their remote and the power Bill is exactly the same each month. :) We are on a plan where they work out every year how much you use and adjust accordingly (we chose weekly payments) its literally fit and forget. In Winter its meant to go into debt and summer back to credit. Last review / change we got a $14 a week reduction, currently around $461 Credit. |

| 1484667 | 2022-03-02 01:13:00 | It looks like the system is that the meter is read remotely, as it has been for years, but there is now a government requirement that a person has to visit occasionally to check that the remote readings are correct? The Mercury website mentions that the "new meter readers" started in April 2021. Maybe that is what its all about? Thanks everyone. |
