2008-04-16 07:23:00 | You can't get rid of the All programs menu, but you can remove the other two. FreshUI (www.freshdevices.com) can do that. Significant 'combing' required though

2008-04-16 08:22:00 | Get something like TweakUI I don't think that offers as much control as something like FreshUI, being a MS product  If you want a MS product, try the Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit (edit: now Windows Steady State (www.microsoft.com)).

2008-04-16 08:53:00 | You can use 3rd party applications as mentioned above and apply registry changes (i.e. hacks), if you feel comfortable, after backing up the registry. Though often done by advanced users... | kahawai chaser (3545) | |
2008-04-16 09:12:00 | From one of the Microsoft tech forms - you CAN hide all the programs in the start menu by doing the following, simply make the following reg file(s) and double click it to activate, then reboot, to undo make the other file (do that first before hiding the menu other wish you may not get notepad / word pad) Simply copy/paste the code below to notepad and save. Registry change to hide “All Programs” from Start menu ----------------------------------------------------- You can create a Text Document and copy the following content to the Document. Then save the document as Allprogramsdisable.reg Then, you can import the registry key by double click the REG file. Log off and then logon to the computer to apply the change. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoStartMenuMorePrograms"=dword:00000001 To undo the change: You can save the following content as UndoAllprogramsdisable.reg and then apply it with the same method: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoStartMenuMorePrograms"=dword:00000000

2008-04-16 09:46:00 | The above works a treat, just make sure if you copy /paste the code above there is NO breaks, originally I copied it and it had a break that I didn't notice in the word current between e n Eg: Windows\Curre ntVersion\ Fixed that and heres the results Before reg entered (www.imagef1.net.nz) and then After Reg entered (www.imagef1.net.nz) All Programs disappeared. ;) Edit: and NO I didn't simply white out the "all Programs" in the screen shot :p Any desktop shortcuts still worked fine relating to programs list.
