| 659464 | 2008-04-16 06:25:00 | My USB stick suddently didn't allow me to write to or delete anything from it. It gives the message "Remove the write-protection or use another disk". There is a lock-unlock switch on the drive which I already made sure that it's unlocked. I tried to reformat but the same message poped up. Please help!!! |

| 659465 | 2008-04-16 06:34:00 | Did it have any instructions for passwords? I have a Swiss-bit USB drive which has this: www.imagef1.net.nz | Scouse (83) | ||

| 659467 | 2008-04-17 22:41:00 | ok, try this: - Start > Run > type regedit the hit Enter - Single-click on My Computer the click File > Export > save it to the Desktop (For a backup!!) - Go to the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\StorageDe vicePolicies - Double click on the string WriteProtect and change the Value Data box to 0 - Then: File > Export > save somewhere useful as something like StorageDevicePolicies001.reg - You also need to do this for the strings in any folders called ControlSet*** (* = any Digit, i.e. 001, 002) for example: Everything is the same, just change CurrentControlSet to ControlSet*** HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\St orageDevice Policies - Save these to the same place as before as StorageDevicePolicies00* The saves are in case it reverts at a later date, just double click (saying yes to importing these to the registry) on all of the files and it should all work again! |
