2005-06-29 06:14:00 | Sex Pistols were bought together by a clothes shop owner, dressed by him,and promoted by him.Think of them as kin to the Spice Girls. As for Rage, I had to laugh when they took part in a street protest a few years ago, they were pushing for office cleaners to be paid at the same rate as the office workers. By that logic every single dime made from their record sales should have been evenly destributed to everone who worked in anyway on the record, right down to the coffee lady. Did it happen?, of course not, Its all fine and well protesting how money is spent elsewhere, but reduntant when you decide the ideals you are trying to force on others will never apply to themselves.

2005-06-29 06:17:00 | personthingy,......... Perhaps you were one who sung "F*%k you" at the Big Day Out, if not, why not? To rock out to rage would be priceless!I feel like waving my virtual walking stick when thinking back that far... But i was definatly NOT one of the ones singing along with that rebellious line in an o so conformist way. I've allready stated what i was doing. Anyway, i wasn't knocking the band, just the sheep like behaviour of the audiance who sang in mass "i wont do what you tell me" just like they were told to. I found that hillarious! My best BDO memory is Ministry, allthough they were better at the Powerstation the night before with CHCHs own Loves Ugly Children. My greatest disapointment was NIN

2005-06-29 06:27:00 | Well as a soon to be 22 Year Old, I can say that SOAD is definitely not my cup of tea even though many of my generation would listen to this sort of .........:2cents:Different strokes... People listen to different music for different reasons. To relax, i might listen to Patti Smith To get energy levels up it might be a little Rammstien But i'm weird, I've failed to mellow with age in terms of what i listen to. Most peoples tastes are narrow, as they seem to only seek one thing from music, and therefore one gendre is enough. Again... there is no accounting for taste, or the lack of. :D

2005-06-29 06:44:00 | When I listen to music I never take any notice of the lyrics. I might sing along if I know the lyrics but I don't think about them. They could be singing about coming and sticking something up my wife's backside for all I care. As long the music is good I'll listen to it. :D

2005-06-29 08:09:00 | Please people, remember this is a "family" forum. Watch your comments. Please remember I refrained and not posted in this thread so far. I like Gilbert and Sullivan, Strauss Senior and Junior and even Richard. Most Country. Even Elvis the Pelvis. There is a lot of other classical music I listen to from time to time. Shania Twain is good. I point this out so you don't think I'm locked in a time warp. Bye.

2005-06-30 03:25:00 | Heh? Cut and pasted. Of course technically, the Pistols were a group, but not in the sense that they made decisions about their music, their shows, or any media blitz. As with the Monkees, they were pieced together by canny manipulators of youth that had something exact in mind. While it's true that neither band would have taken off without some talent. Sound like a half truth to you? Sex Pistols were perhaps one of the first groups that were a marketing plan before the big cheeses had even decided on who would be hired to be in the band. You also realise Sid Vicious couldn't even play the bass? Or that John Lyden (or Rottem as was his stage name) was simply fired from the "band" by management befre the entire sideshow collapsed?
