659796 2008-04-18 02:27:00 I thought they were called Yahoo!Xtra

No that is their online entity now. Xtra has been dumped as the name for their broadband. It is now Telecom Broadband.

659798 2008-04-18 02:57:00 Thanks PCtek - OK, I got to that page too, but there's nothing wrong with my settings. Seems to me the HelpDesk is the only way to go. B*gger.

659799 2008-04-18 03:39:00 Haven't got Norton's Installed have you ??

Interestingly enough the first thing that will bugger up is the email if Norton's plays sillies. If you have, remove it and your mail will more than likely work.

659802 2008-04-18 04:31:00 Since when were there no problem with Xtra. They were create some if there is none. I was told to terminate if I am not happy. I am now with Xnet. The only regret was that I should have switched over earlier. Taurus (9579)
659803 2008-04-18 21:40:00 Talked this morning to them, changed a few things and voila, it works. Now just don't ask what I had to change - let's see if I can remember :
- Keep the send.xtra.co.nz server
- Tick requires authentication

On the advanced tab:
- Outgoing mail - changed from 25 to465
- Ticked both SSL boxes

659804 2008-04-18 22:24:00 What you had by the looks of it was the old default setting.

By changing to the settings they put in place when they went to that bubble crap a while back it's obviously working.

NOW is the silly bit - some people have the mail settings when set to the default work fine and the new ones dont, others have the exact opposite happen.

Xtra / Telecom who ever you like to call them this week have every thing in such a mess its a wonder any thing works at all.
