368725 2005-07-02 13:07:00 Some hapless stock broker in Taiwan keyed in the wrong figure and resulted in a mistaken $251m stock buy, as reported (news.com.com) by CNet. Yes, she got sacked.

I once worked for the ASBBank and had a whining customer on my back sending demanding emails. I made a derogatory comments about her greed when I thought I was forwarding the email to a colleague. Only after I sent it did I notice I had replied to the sender instead. In my panic I tried that "recall" thing in Outlook - that just made it look worse. I immediately fulfilled her demands and then some, and she said "thank you, you @ssh*le".

368728 2005-07-03 06:22:00 Ha Ha good one vinref. I was fiddling around in my address book in Yahoo once trying to remove the "everyone" option. Couldn't seem to do it gave up and wrote a derogatory email about a friend's boyfriend to another friend and clicked send - it and went to everyone including the first friend.

All smoothed out in the end though and now I like the boyfriend too. :) ......m

Now and then when I need to go to an internet cafe, I sometimes find that some people have failed to log off their email accounts before leaving . Yeah, yeah, yeah, blah blah blah I hear you psychically telling me to not look at their emails, but you know how it is . . . . but I do send them an email telling them to properly close their accounts before leaving .

Some are the boring job applications, CVs, etc stuff . But quite often I stumble across some gay dudes pictures and movies - I swear I never knew people did that sort of thing, and I log out immediately .

368733 2005-07-04 07:12:00 Yeah vinref I've done that too . I run a public access internet comp and at first was simply interested about the technical aspect of being able to access other people's emails but had the same experience as you, mostly, "How's your father, I'll be at the airport at this / that time . , Did you feed the cat?" - sort of stuff .

Had a similar experience when I was in Spain, I used to eavesdrop on people's conversations on the bus for language practice . Perhaps it is really obvious that our everyday conversations are about everyday things . :D
