2005-06-30 03:27:00 | Am looking at the possibility of using either DVD Unlimited or Movieshack. Does anyone have any experience with either of these or any other online DVD Rental firm in NZ. Is one better than the other, etc etc etc. Thanks

2005-06-30 06:07:00 | I had fatcat on a free trial which was nice, but the service wasn't fast enough, plus for example i hired the last samari, and it came with a bonus disc, which counted towards the amount of disc that i could get, soon cancelled, | plod (107) | |
2005-06-30 10:41:00 | I use Movishack and find it very good. Next day delivery of DVD's when you tick a box on the website to say you have returned them. Good sized library as well. I don't have a problem with the price as $40 a month is less than I was spending on Sky movies and hires in a month. | sharrow (1342) | |

2005-06-30 22:00:00 | I have had the free trials with Movieshack, Fatso, and DVD Unlimited. I can recommend all of them. They are all very similar; it seems that their websites were designed by the same company. Prices are very similar; one company is slightly cheaper. Currently I am with Fatso, paying for 2 DVDs at a time. The most DVDs you can get is three issues a week, so that would be 9 if your deal is 3 movies at a time. You can easily get 2 issues per week. The way to get 3 issues per week is to post them back the same day  :D you receive them, but you also should tick the boxes on "My Account" to say that you have in fact mailed them out, and maybe (the jury is out on this) slap extra postage on for Fast Post. BTW, the free two week trials are very good, and it really is free with no strings attached except the DVDs need to be received by the company before the two weeks expires and you also need to close your account. Lets see... 4 DVD companies that offer 2 week free trials, 9 per week, 18 for two weeks, 18 x 4.... yep, you can get a heap of free flicks! The main reason I went with movies-by-post is to get a better selection of foreign, festival and classic films. pctek writes: No but I read all the small print on the websites and I thinks its rip-off. Well, I don't know exactly what you are referring to but I have found no rip off at all, and a friend of mine also finds the service good. No, you do not need to pay for the return postage. There are no extra hidden costs.

2005-07-01 01:59:00 | I subscribed to Fatso for 6 months or so, and loved them... and if you can cram enough movie watching in I reckon it's worth it. It's also good to be able to get those "not so popular" dvd's that your local video store doesn't stock. One thing I really liked about fatso was that you could put your subscription on hold, so if you're out of the country, or just need a break from the payments you can with the click of a button! FFWD did a review awhile back on the various NZ DVD rental places - but unforunately it's not online for viewing.

2005-07-01 11:17:00 | I've been with dvd unlimited for a year now and love it. The turn around has been a lot faster since sky tv took it over. I'm on the 3 dvd deal, and usually end up getting 6 - 9 movies a week depending on weather I watch them on the day they arrive.
