368093 2005-06-29 23:41:00 I was extremely disappointed with this article in the latest PCWorld. The tables supplied were simply a collection of Manufacturer specifications.

A better table should have had testers ratings of "Poor / Fair / Good / Very Good / Excellent" for the following

Brightness, Video Playback, Games, Colour, Business Applications, etc.

They said they tested them, what were the test results ??? We are supposed to read the commentary under each brand as to what made it the editors choice.

368094 2005-06-30 00:19:00 Fair comment. But are you saying you don't even read the reviews, only the tables? Scott Bartley (836)
368095 2005-06-30 01:46:00 Well I read it. Sony won. Of course.
They didn't really go into detail but then you could write pages and pages. One thing the prices are off - the AOC is $569 from certain other retail places.
And it didn't mention it has a zero bright pixel warranty as well. Although mention is made of that being variable to different models.

368096 2005-06-30 02:51:00 You want them to read the "instructions", Scott? Just be grateful they look at the pictures. Graham L (2)
368097 2005-06-30 02:52:00 We have to consider the newsagents as well, Its one thing to spend 10 minutes browsing the magazines then it is to settle in for a good read of PC World.... Metla (12)
368098 2005-06-30 03:27:00 Do you mean to say that you don't have a few copies of PC World on sale in your shop, Metla?

Shame on you...

368099 2005-06-30 03:30:00 Reading a commentary, is a little like reading an opinion. I like to see this opinion substitiated by facts. i.e. test results. Even websites publish test results for tech they test, why not magazines, or have magazines just become glorified brochures. KiwiTT_NZ (233)

Nah, I have boycotted the magazine since they ran those adds from Farmers that stated their pile of crap equipped with a fx5200 was the most powerful gaming system in NZ.

Ok, Thats not true, I buy the mag if it contains something of interest for me, and I will quite happily end my boycott and have the magazine in the shop if gifted a free subscription..

Muhahahaha.

I have copies of Atomic lying about. Often open to encouraging articles. As in super duper cool gaming stuff. People who want PCWorld home/office stuff don't look at anyhting, they go into Farmers, Warehouse or Noel Leemings and buy ^^$#@ boxes.
