| 367726 | 2005-06-29 23:44:00 | (They say if you keep anything long enough, it'll either come back into fashion or be valued as an antique) The old telephones with bells, a winder to call the operator and a giant space for batteries? We have three in varying states of completeness. - One has been modified with a phone inside it - open door to dial but use the existing handset on the hook - One is empty, used as a cupboard and has a couple of jackets hanging on the hook - One appeared out of Dad's garage a few weeks ago. My brother years ago emptied it, stripped it down for revarnishing and then abandoned it. Dad bought them when we were kids. One each in our bedrooms and one in the "playhouse" (converted car packing case) down the back of the section. A couple of years ago we were wandering through an antique shop in somewhere like Morrinsville. They had one for sale for $200 |
