| 367476 | 2005-06-27 13:37:00 | Talented enough to actually play music that isn't childish in its simplicity (Such as linkin park,Korn,nearly all other mainstream bands) and write lyrics that they want to express rather then writing down to a specific demograph (such as Linkin Park,Korn, Simple Plan and all the billion other rubbish bands) As far as personal taste goes, Can't stand the music they make..or the singing style,or the lyrics, But good on them for having their own style and identity, Music would be in a far better position if there were more bands with integrity, Willing to risk success on the strength of their talents rather then marketing and target sales. |

Couldn't of said it better myself. They've got a couple of good songs that i like, like alot of other bands around but theres not many bands that i can actually say i like all of there songs except for say, ACDC, Led Zeplin, GnR, Dire Straits, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Beetles :o, Eric Clapto, CCr, George Thorogood, Canned Heat.....Ok, theres a few bands around but not to many recent bands. |

What's age got to do with it, i've almost completed 43 yrs on this planet, and i've heard of them! Although it's also true that Ziggy, my 14yo son likes SOAD more than i do, mind you, he was singing along with NIN when he used to visit me at the age of 8 or 9 . Actually i have a lot of SOAD video sitting on a HDD somewhere . . . they're funny, i like watching them more than i like listening to them, and i do think they're one of the better of the bands that will enivitably get labeled "nu metal" (note the use of the spelling (antispelling?) "nu" as in webelous and cool . . . . . . . scoff scoff scoff) I do find them a little narrow, but i like them in not too lang a dose . Not a CD i would put on repeat for the day . Give me tool for that anyday! :D |
