660821 2008-04-21 06:00:00 I have just got an OKTA pda/phone from Telecom It comes with Active synch 4 . 5 and Winow Mobile 6 .

Have installed as directed but can't syncronise with my 1997 Outlook . A message comes up "Active synch encountered a problem on the desktop Support code 85010014" .

Have gone back to telecom who promised to look into it but never came back .

Also looked at some American websites, this seems to be a major problem but no real solutions . Have uninstalled Office 1997 and reloaded as someone suggested but this does not help .

Also nowhave another error message when I load Outlook that reads mising pmailext . dll . Have looked all over my computer for this with no luck .

Help plse

660822 2008-04-21 06:23:00 Have a look at this (support.microsoft.com)

Somehow, I dont think Office / Outlook 97 is supported, according to the above MS site

Method 2: Verify that you are running a supported version of Outlook

Verify that you are running Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, Microsoft Outlook 2002, or Outlook 2000. Additionally, verify that Outlook is backed by a local .pst file or by a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server.

I would very much doubt software that is over 10 years old is supported . Even office XP isn't supported by many phone companies these days, and outlook xp doesn't work properly on Windows Vista . . You would either need the latest version to get it to work, and I think the previous version of office should also work .

660825 2008-04-21 06:53:00 Ok thanks for that. What I forgot to say was that there is a free trial of Outlook 2007 on the telecom disc. I loaded this on and stil had the same problem. Interestingly I can still active sync ith my old Harrier. Have gone back to old software rodger kallu (9792)
