369756 2005-07-05 20:36:00 Just another scam - received today:

My name is Angelina Mazaikina. I am a staff manager of the AusVision Company. Our Company is an international dealer of plasma displays and LCD tv-s manufactured by Panasonic, Philips, Samsung etc. Our head office is located in Russian Federation but we have also our sales representatives in USA and some european countries. The number of people, making their orders via our internet-shop http://ausvision.net has recently considerably encreased. Unfortunately there are some essential problems in Russia related to online transfers receiving. Therefore we have the constant need in people able to receive online transfers from our clients on their personal bank accounts and then transfer the cash to one of our agents via Western Union. Most assuredly, you must worry about your active account. In that case you can open a new account special for work. We offer 5% of a transfer sum and take all expences on bank services and WU. The average sum of our deals accounts for $2000 - $4000 NZ. If you are interested in our offer, please contact me info@ausvision.net. Since our countries are located in different time zones, all negotiations should be lead out mostly via e-mail.

Regards,
Angelina Mazaikina,

369757 2005-07-05 21:00:00 Unfortunately I also found this spam today  , after being spam-free for yonks since changing my email address.

If you are interested in our offer, please contact me info@ausvision.net.

I recall a letter to the editor in PCW NZ, saying that when a site asks for our email address (a site you don't want mail from, but the freebie or whatever they offer), that we should use a spammer's address. :D So lets do it PF1ers!

It's the same old Nigerian scam. So they've changed the name and the company, the basic principle is there.

Why must ever person that gets one post about it. I get maybe 20-30 of these a day, perhaps I'll write a script to post threads for me every time I get one so I can be as stupid as everyone else.

The last bloody thread on these things is still on the front page.

Spammers don't use valid reply addresses 99.9% of the time so it's a waste of effort and all it does is put more load on the internet as a whole because you cause:
1. The company whose site you put the address into to try delivering mail to a dud address.
2. The mail server that receives mail (if it exists) to have to process mail for that address.
3. Chances are the receiving mail server won't accept it so generate a bounce message.
4. The bounce goes back to an unmonitored company address which auto responds saying the address is not monitored.
5. The autoresponse bounces..

and so on.

Anyone who does this is an idiot, just like those who "bounce" spam with MailWasher. Huge waste of time, and a huger waste of resources.

I am so sorry that I inadvertently disturbed your otherwise peaceful day ninja with this post. It was the first time I saw this, and I thought I should post it.

sarelSo you dirve past a building. It ' s on fire. There ' s 8 fire appliances, a command unit, 2 ambulances, police cordons on each block. Flames are leaping into the air.

"Gee it ' s the first time I ' ve seen it, maybe I ' ll call 111 and tell them there ' s a building on fire"
