369651 2005-07-05 06:51:00 Hiya

I need a small digicam. I have film and digital SLR but they are far too big for this trip.

I prefer manual controls or Av and Tv modes with exposure compensation.
I did a search on dpreview.com and I came with the Kodak series or the Canon A520 (this about $300NZ). Or else there is the $400NZ A95 which is 5MP vs the prior of 3MP. This A95 I dont need a mem card as I already have CF. The other I need to get a MMC/SD card.

What you say?

Edit, coming to think of it, I could forgo manual control and accept program mode with exposure compensation.

369652 2005-07-06 03:18:00 I saw a Bond and Bond catalogue of the Canon A75 3MP for less than $300?

Good good? MP and zoom is plenty and has manual plus CF mem support which I already have? I know its old but its still good?

369653 2005-07-06 03:37:00 Yes, Canon are good . That's probably a good price . It would be better than my A40 . ;) See if you like the feel of the camera .

I think no-one's responded before because there are so many cameras, and the choice is so individual .

I feel that just about any digital camera above the toy, junk, level is pretty good . The details differ . About the only necessity is an optical zoom . The A75 will have that . The CF is an economic convenience for you . ;)
