The likely hood of me getting it is very high . . . . . . as my Dad has it, my brother has the beginnings of it and my sister and mother also used to smoke, so they could have mild forms of illness related to smoking . Hopefully my children will not smoke or have it, asthma also runs in our family . and the stupid thing is i have never smoked in my life . scares me witless, as last year we were at the hospital so many times with my dad, organised funerals the lot, and he pulled through . the quality of his life is zilch, he may go outside once a week, air and dust even with windows closed is stressful for him . he cant walk to the letter box . having a shower exhausts him . he smoked from the age of 14, and gave up last year at 75, too late, so yeah go smoke, makes you wonderful, vibrant and bubbly . . . . . . . pah . half the time emphasemia goes undectected . till too late . Have a nice life guys, i do not envy you, i just am thankful for another day with my dad . . . . . . we bought him a nebuliser, he has this 4 times a day, he has oxygen when needed, and regular rides to the hospital, 9 by us and ambulance rides - these are not free!) and he has a do not resus order on his sheet, how does this make you feel? if my dad happens to die in my presence, i sure as hell am not gonna be thinking of do not resus . . . . . . . . have a nice day people . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . have one on me . lifes to short, and smoking only makes it shorter . :groan: beetle |

Give up alcohol, relaxing and radiation emitting devices such as TVs, cellphones, monitors etc. Move to the country, take up jogging, vegetarianism as well. Sell the car, grow my own veges. And guess what. I'll still die. As for emphysema and cancer it always gets blamed on smoking. News flash - other things can give you the same diseases. NZ is getting to be a bit of a police state. Can't do this, can't do that, ban this, ban that. You will be healthy or else. People tend to die from thngs like heart attacks and cancer now mainly because they aren't dying from smallpox, plague or parasites so much these days. |
