We must sort this country out. ;)

No problem with the second sentence Cicero. However, I just think we will sort the country out far better without pollies of the likes of Brash (or Winnie). Both peddle fear and prejudice - they will divide the country, not unite it.

Brash is the classic "know the price of everything and the value of nothing" kind of politician. Winston doesn't know the price of anything and only values something that will get him attention! ;)

Sorry Cicero, no marks for that, you are supposed to answer the question, not postulate alternative outcomes .

Mind you, if the answer is Don Brash, I'd hate to think what the question was .

Probably something like: Which charisma-challenged politician sleeps in ancient moth-eaten pyjamas that his mummy gave him? Or perhaps: What BoF had his life story ghost-written, then had the book sink without trace within 24 hours of its launch? (A titanic achievement!)

Cheers

371137 2005-07-11 05:22:00 We shall find out once National are in office and the current gravy train is disassembled, A change in government is always a good thing . Then it will no doubt take another year or 2 for the bloat to creep back in we will once again have hundreds of people sucking millions of dollars doing jobs whose purpose no one can define .

As for Brash looking for attention, thats his job though I was disapointed to see the tax-cuts angle brought up, that can only backfire . I certainly wouldn't put Brash on a lower level then anyone else involved in politics, Though you would think winning a popularity competetion with the current lot would be as easy as falling off a log, I know if I had to chose out of The party heads for a dinner guest then Brash would get my invite . . . . . .

. . . . . . Then I would eat somewhere else, I have no desire to converse with pollies . . . . .

. . . . . . Unless it was about plans to disband the Greens and the Maori party, then have the stragglers rounded up by the secret police . . .

muhahahahahha

371138 2005-07-11 07:20:00 Metla is on the right track.
The point is,if they were to tell it like it is,then nobody would get in.
Boils down to,do you want the state to provide or can you do it yourself.
I would suggest all the people on here could provide for themselves if what they earned was left in their pockets.

Billy, high marks for humour and well put.

East is east and west is west and never the twain shall meet, same as left can never meet right.(Rudyard Kipling.)I think you will all agree that we are seeing the results of ignoring old Rud.

371140 2005-07-11 10:16:00 If Don Brash were to cast off this mortal coil then Gerry Brownlee would become leader. Now there's a scary thought but even more terrifying would be the idiot Simon Power moving to number two. Dally (6292)

Yes Simon is far to successful as a businessman,we need more teachers,or ivory tower academics.

371142 2005-07-11 10:45:00 Q. What's the difference between a Lawyer and a Mississippi Mudfish?

A. One is a bottom dwelling scum-sucker and the other is a fish. HaHAHa.

Apologies to some lawyers. Know a few good ones myself.......m :D
