370315 2005-07-07 16:00:00 Damn, I am currently living about a 5 minute walk from one of the explosions (aldgate east/whitecapel ), its crazy. Was going to go to tottenham court road today to buy a hard drive ( pressf1.pcworld.co.nz )... no chance of that. GarryM (8483)
370316 2005-07-07 16:04:00 Rather - who needs Wikipedia's version when you can can get it from the horse's mouth from BBC World - either live on TV now or website?
They're on the spot - and they're proper journalists.

P.S. Just seen Garry's post. It must be a very strange & frightening time, Garry - but from what I've been looking at on BBC World, the Brits are coping well. In fact, back to the don't-panic attitude of WW2.
Some very good stuff coming from live TV here - both info & interviews with people in authority. Stiff upper lip & efficiency...

The Wikipedia article is a great resource because it has objective and extensive information. It also has all facts and figures on the situation in the one place. I've also been watching television and reading different reports, it can be confusing at times with different figures being thrown around. Don't discount Wikipedia.

370318 2005-07-07 17:38:00 Good points, sal.

Have to admit I committed the cardinal sin of sending that post without actually checking out the Wikipedia site (too engrossed in what BBC was saying).
That's something I'd criticise in others, so I deserve a slap on the hand...
My only excuse - and it seems a poor one now - is that I'd heard Wikipedia's content could be added to/changed by anyone? So in a case of breaking news, where details/estimates are constantly changing, I figured that named journalists from a respected source on the spot were most likely to get it right.
Yes, Wikipedia's looking good.

370321 2005-07-08 02:42:00 What pisses me off most about this type of terrorism is that none of those a******s would be prepared to stand up man for man and have a fight. They're absolute pussies and deserve the foul death they get.

They think they're going to "paradise"? Forget it mate! Suicide is self-murder, and it's an irredeemable death.

Problem is,it's what you think that counts.
