| 661294 | 2008-04-22 07:55:00 | My PC has Realtek HD audio (onboard) and I want to set different volumes for the front headphone socket and rear centre socket (lime colour) due to my headphones having no volume control. I want it to mute the rear output and automatically set the levels correctly (~10% for front h/p socket and 100% for rear socket) when I plug in my headphones. I'm using 2ch audio (2 desktop speakers) I want it to work for both XP and Vista BTW Can this be done?? |

| 661295 | 2008-04-22 08:22:00 | no Idea if this will work, but worth a crack - Looked at the instructions I had for enabling front audio, and noticed in the Pic the mixer Tab, try looking in those someplace. Front Audio Settings High Definition 1. In the task bar -Double click on the High Audio Speaker, usually orange in color. 2. Select the Audio I/O tab 3. Click on the Blue circle with the white spanner 4. Tick Disable Front Panel Detection 5. Click OK. & Close Settings. Front audio should now work. | 661298 | 2008-04-22 08:39:00 | Hi, I have Realtek HD Audio on my motherboard. I can confirm that wainuitech's suggestion is correct. I hope you have the Realtek utility thing load up on startup as is default, that is really important for controlling this. once you've gone to that spanner and disabled front panel detection (this is so it doesn't turn off the speakers output once it detects you've plugged in headphones) you can go to the 'Mixer' tab and scroll through left or right in the 'Playback' adjustments place to find 'Front' and 'Rear' volume controls. Can adjust these independently. Edit : when you say you have to adjust the volume control each time you plug in headphones, do you mean the volume controls in the Realtek utility under 'Mixer' tab? I don't have to do this through that utility since it has remembered my settings for over a year now. Are you maybe using the windows Volume control thing for this? |
