| 371907 | 2005-07-14 04:14:00 | I connect my new HP iPaq rz1710 to GPRS over Infrared with my Nokia 6310 I can get connect and all but can't get onto the vodafone live website have a look at this and this is what comes up live.vodafone.com does anyone have any suggestions. The vodafone live site is a WAP site, designed to be viewed in wap browsers on cell phones, not a web browser. So you won't be able to view it using Pocket IE on your ipaq. Other possibly helpful info to do with PDAs and GPRS: All you should have to do to create an internet connection for your iPaq (for say looking at regular websites, checking your email, running a chat program, that sort of thing) is create a dialup connection using the phone number *99# this should connect you to the internet assuming your phone is setup normally. After that the only real trick is with sending email. you are using vodafone as your ISP (sort of) so you need to use their outgoing mail server (smtp.vodafone.net.nz) but your regular ISP for your incoming (pop3.ihug.co.nz). Hope some of this helps. -Qyiet |
