372258 2005-07-15 06:49:00 I have a piece of paper somewhere saying that I can type at 50 WPM with a First Class pass (think that means high accuracy). Have seriously gone downhill since. I have also developed a neat trick of my fingers having a mind of their own when I am typing fast, and I often type out a completely different word (or even contradicting word) to what I was thinking. My friends have gotten used to translating what I really meant by now  Jen (38)

372260 2005-07-15 08:08:00 the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog

took 26 seconds = 20.769 wpm @ 100% accuracy

the quick brown fox jumped over the laxy god

took 23 seconds = 24.545 wpm @ 77.778 wpm accuracy

Room for some improvement I'd say

:-))

372261 2005-07-15 08:19:00 Unless you want a position as a typist or data entry person what difference does it make?

Either of those two and you need to be fast and correct.

I prefer to be reasonably correct but I can still do the odd typo.

60-80 words per minute will get you a job as a typist.

Data entry is different.

372262 2005-07-15 08:30:00 If you are really good in typing, check out UFO Typing (www.kyucon.com) . Post back the time that you required to achieve the highest score, which is 4000 (English experts out there, how can I rephrase this sentence to make it "smoother"?). This game works by typing in the keys that each UFO reveals. As the game progress on, the UFOs will fly down faster and faster.

Cheers :)
