| 372171 | 2005-07-14 22:31:00 | I have thesevirus firewalls that i would like to call "little league" firewalls I've got: Jetico Personal Firewall & Zone Protect Personal Firewall Now, is it possible to make, get,or download a program to make these "little leagues" to run together or act as 1 firewall instead of a crappy 2? |

| 372173 | 2005-07-14 22:44:00 | Be careful about having multiple firewalls on the same puter. They will probably not play well together, even if you think these two do. Now, as for anti-spy stuff and trojan killers, more is better...but firewalls? NO! | SurferJoe46 (51) | ||

| 372175 | 2005-07-17 07:37:00 | The difference being anti-spyware etc run when you want them to run, and can be run consecutively just fine. They dont sit constantly running in memory, examining ports and intercepting certain files in real time based on a list criteria, as a firewall does. Think of 2 firewalls that run in the background constantly monitoring just like a doubles tennis match, where each player is programmed to play as if it was a singles match. The ball comes over then net and each "player" tries to hit it, but end up colliding into each other while the ball sails happily past them. Game set and match. Running 2 antivirus programs at once has a similar detrimental effect. |

I've got: Jetico Personal Firewall & Zone Protect Personal Firewall So why are you playing around with crap little league firewalls when you could be using Zone Alarm, Kerio or Tiny Personal Firewall? They are all free so what's stopping you? Beats me. Cheers Billy 8-{) PS: Bear in mind that firewalls are not anti-virus programs either, just in case you thought they were. |
