662378 2008-04-25 01:33:00 Each time I start windows I get this error box that appears.

htpatch.exe – Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000022). Click on OK to terminate the application.

It has only started today. Running Pentium 4 2.53 with Windows XP Pro. Would appreciate anyone’s help to fix this problem.

662379 2008-04-25 01:40:00 Is your system a SIS based system??

I think this file is in startup and is a patch for HT / Hyperthreading) P4 CPU's.

I would re-download it (it maybe corrupt), then reinstall it, if the system needs it

662381 2008-04-25 02:00:00 SIS is a chipset, like Intel, or Nvidia chipset

662385 2008-04-25 02:34:00 Ah ha yup thats definitely SIS based

I used to have that mobo. It had like a 5-30 sec lag, (everytime I ran a program or something, it took 5-30 secs to do something).

I replaced it

Get ccleaner (www.ccleaner.com) install it, then run it, then go to tools / startup.

The entry for it should be here, delete the entry. Not too sure if you need it or not.

662386 2008-04-25 17:57:00 hi, wonder if you can help me, my pc also started with this same error message today but i managed to get rid of it by restoring back a few days, dont know if it'l pop up again or not, my system is an elite group 2K7S5a Pro moherboard, running an AMD Athlon XP 2400+ CPU, with an nvidia geforce 7600gs graphic card installed, i dont know if my system uses this SIS thing or not, be greatfull if anyone can tell me & if it would be safe for me to delete this patch to prevent further repeats of this error, many thanks to anyone who can help.

662387 2008-04-25 20:04:00 Hmm it looks like it is a SIS AMD mobo David.

And it looks like HTpatch is usually used for HT (hyperthreading CPU's).

Which P4 CPU's use. AFAIK, AMD cpu's dont support HT

Thats what the HT in HTpatch means

So, I cant see why you'll need it, if you've got an AMD CPU.
