| 662161 | 2008-04-24 11:26:00 | Hi All, My friends laptop got dropped and the CD|DVD Drive wont close properly and you need to hold it in to get it to read and on LED if you open it with a pin then you close it it the laptop turns off can you help me!!!:crying :crying :crying :crying |

| 662162 | 2008-04-24 11:38:00 | sounds like its pretty stuffed man. if you've got a friend with experience with opening laptops (the cheapest way) then have them take a look at it and see what exactly is causing the issue. Just something loose or something broken? Then you go from there was to what to replace etc. I'd be almost certain that it's a hardware issue. Also, you might wanna advise your friend to make some backups of their data if they haven't already. If nothing has been lost this time around, you can consider yourself lucky. Should the laptop be dropped again, you will be happy to have those backups. |

| 662164 | 2008-04-24 12:22:00 | Was it turned on at the time it was dropped? I would be backing up any valuable data as the hard drive may have suffered some damage as well. If it was turned off then less likely. |
