| 374317 | 2005-07-22 06:15:00 | We all know where this is heading, don't we? In this article (www.zdnet.com.au oward/0,2000061744,39203689,00.htm) from ZDNet Australia, right after the one I posted about the most overhyped security threats, Blair and Howard muse that " 19th century legal responses to potentially 21st century technological terrorist capacity" need to change. But will more surveillance, censorship and control of the internet be all that bad? Are the feds/MI5/coppers likely to jump all over you for writing a blog or a forum post that is not uncritical of muslims and the such like? Do people get influenced by rants and raves of a deluded and murderous ideology on the net all that much? If they do, are these people predisposed to this sort of thing anyway? Did it take the net to tip them over the edge of sanity and make them strike out? |
