2005-07-17 08:13:00 | well as the title implies, I am due to sit my restricted drivers licence test tomorrow morning, and I am (understandably) very nervous. does anyone have any last minute tips for success?

2005-07-17 08:18:00 | Is it the theory or the practical? If it's the theory, you need to relax and have a good night's sleep. Further cramming is not recommended. If it's the practical, relax and take time looking at the rear-view mirrors, indicate correctly and be over-cautious. Don't try to be slick or smooth.

2005-07-17 08:22:00 | restricted, is the practical test after 6 months on the learners licence which if i pass lets me drive on my own without passengers. and yeah, im going to have to be way more cautious than I usually am, especially on not creeping over 50...

2005-07-17 09:07:00 | 1) Make it obvious that you're looking at your mirrors - move your head, and not just glance over 2) Make it obvious that you're looking over your shoulder when merging/changing lanes/entering traffic flow 3) Don't drive too slow!!! I got told off for taking too long to accelerate to 50km/hr. 4) Don't speed - EVER 5) Stop dead at stop signs 6) Take it easy - don't stress out, and just drive like you normally would (safely I hope). 7) Follow the testing officer's instructions. I think they can fail you if you don't go where they tell you to go - ie. if don't turn when you're told to. Otherwise, good luck!!!

2005-07-17 10:09:00 | if you actually need to remember anything somebody mentioned then you shouldn't even be sitting the test ! ! good point plod. there has been a few picky testers failing people on what may or may not up to WOF standard.

2005-07-17 10:47:00 | Get in. Put on seatbelt. adjust mirror even if you don't need to. Remain calm. Don't speed, pause at intersections, check for traffic. Wear nerdy clothes and comb your hair, especially if you normally look like a boy racer. Borrow another car if it is a boy racer thing. My tester (way back when) didn't comment till the end then said - did your boyfriend teach you? I said yep, and he said, it shows. (speed) Passed anyway.
