| 372878 | 2005-07-17 06:59:00 | Hi All When this new version of the forum came about sometime before Xmas last year, metla started a photoshop compteition type thing here (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz), which a few of us entered, I entered with some pics hosted on my domain, looking at my webstats 7 months later i still get traffic to those pics from that thread which i suppose is to be expected but the weird thing is, is that the initial traffic came from NZ, Aus and the US, but more recently the traffic has moved to Italy, Belgium, netherlands, spain, china etc just one or 2 hits from each, but well not the countries i would expect, and some of the pictures are showing up in search engines too apparently ie some poor frog entered 'All black haka' in the french version of aol search and ended up with my picture (which probably wasn't what they were after) Now after that pointless ramble How do i find the page that links to my website on another website, as in my stats have a "links from external pages not including search engines" section how do i search these websites for the url of my website, most of the links have come from forums and before you say use the search function I have tried that on this forum (where I know for a fact there is a link to my site) and i seem to be unable to search for a URL it just doesn't work Thanks in advance Well hopefully this has actually made sense |

| 372879 | 2005-07-17 09:39:00 | i get the same "links from external pages not including search engines" on my websites stats page. Mine gives the exact page that the link is posted from, which is often funny. The amount of links from travel sites to the "Millerton Sound Company" which has nothing to do with the township astounds me! Don't these guys actually look at what they are linking to? Anyway, many of the links come from me posting links from this and other forums, usually for screenshots and the like. In my case i've got links like forum etc, so it would be fairly easy to track back to the exact link if i so chose. What kind of reffering links are your stats bringing up? |
