373711 2005-07-21 19:12:00 Laura is very correct about the legalities of name suppression. The courts can take a heavy hand against those that break it.

Please respect this and IDG's position and do not post names that might of been granted name supression nor post links to websites naming the people involved.

Thank you for your understanding on this matter.

Drugs is drugs, we all know white collars aren't perfect (in fact it wouldn't surprise me if Nandor and Helen shared the occassional).
We've known sportsmen have been doing the ocassional (NZ cricket team ... Nash and his crew) so whats the big deal over a couple of suspected users?

373713 2005-07-21 22:49:00 The problem with the name suppression laws is that it isn't clearly defined. No one actually knows who it applies to. Jeremy (1197)
373714 2005-07-21 23:12:00 I believe all names should be suppressed until the person is found "guilty". Why should a potentially innocent person be identified and reputation harmed until before the "guilt" is confirmed. KiwiTT_NZ (233)

O.K, so you invited Graham Capell around to babysit your children not knowing he was up on charges....Yeah that's great..

373716 2005-07-22 00:32:00 I'd be keen to hear from Winston if he agrees on Name Suppression being unclear, maybe he has a good word or two to say about it.

So two people were busted doing drugs, whats so great about it?? Have I missed something? People get busted all the time, just because they're celebrities doesnt mean it was more pure drugs or better quality or anything.

Personally I couldnt care less.....

The problem is, that they werent "Suspected Users" they were importing and supplying a large amount of drugs.

373718 2005-07-22 02:32:00 From the report I watched the 2 unnamed people were named by the supplier as buying some gear off him,and the second person had only enquired about availability.

Personally I call it BS that someone in the hotseat can just mention a few names and have the heat applied elsewhere.

Storm in a teacup.

373719 2005-07-22 02:42:00 RE: Capill, You are probably right.

But people can be falsely accused too. The court should determine the guilt not the media. I am aware of people being falsely accused, to achieve "something", then retracting when the result has been achieved.
