2008-04-25 06:54:00 | Photos I have edited with PS Elements (2) cannot be viewed from CDs on my DVD player. I get a screen message "Data error". Original & untouched files on the same disc are viewable. I'll be very grateful for a solution. Also: PS2 came as OEM with my scanner: should I upgrade, and to what level as an occasional, inexpert user? On the other hand, Picassa can't give me the versatility I want.

2008-04-25 08:13:00 | so are you saying you edited the pics already stored on cd (bit confused here) If elements does what you want why upgrade to the other version it might be a bigger install and be more confusing for a occasional user on the other hand I would install it and if I didn't like it I would remove it again as you can run 2 versions. | gary67 (56) | |
2008-04-25 08:59:00 | Thanks for your reply: (1) I edit pics on my C drive & save them as copies. I use Nero 8 to transfer pic selections to CD/DVD for a TV slide show. That's when I have trouble. (2) Advice accepted re PS Elements. Thanks.

2008-04-25 23:12:00 | No worries I ran 3 versions at the same time for a while until I decided which one I wanted to use | gary67 (56) | |
2008-04-25 23:15:00 | WHAT option did you use in Nero?? I dont think you select data cd or dvd. It'll probably be one of the video options in Nerovision (like the slideshow option). If its there It sounds like youre formatting the cd's (which could be why the data error comes up), when you put it in a DVD player

2008-04-29 00:35:00 | All else having failed, I decided to "read the instructions" - went to http://help.adobe.com and found this little gem: "Burn To Disc Saves your slide show on a DVD or Video CD (VCD). DVDs use MPEG-2 compression and provide much better quality. You can burn onto DVD only if you have Adobe Premiere Elements on your computer. VCDs can be read by most computer CD-ROM and DVD-ROM drivesassuming the necessary player software is installedand some DVD players. VCDs use MPEG-1 compression and have a resolution of 352 x 240 pixels. When you view a VCD on a television monitor, the 352 x 240 image stretches to fit the 720 x 480 (NTSC) or 720 x 576 (PAL) screen, decreasing image quality and magnifying compression artifacts and pixelization. " Send To TV Lets you watch your slide show on TV via a Windows Media Center Edition PC. You need a Windows XP Media Center Edition computer to use this option. " I think I'll develop my Picasa skills instead. Thanks to all helpers.

Original & untouched files on the same disc are viewable. This looks like your DVD player is capable of displaying .JPG images and doesn't need to have the image converted. What were you saving the images as once you'd finished editing them? If it was an Adobe format, the DVD player won't show them. |
