662400 2008-04-25 03:28:00 hi
im trying to use nero 7 ultra to burn a .avi file to a dvd as a dvd movie, but it always seems the audio is so out of sync with the video, its not even funny. How do i get a around this so the avi becomes a dvd movie?

662401 2008-04-25 04:33:00 I would have thought that the .avi file needed to be converted to mpeg2 format before burning to the DVD. rumpty (2863)
662402 2008-04-25 04:37:00 Nope Nero I think if youre doing a DVD (and you've paid for the plugin), it'll convert then burn it for it.

No need to convert it first.

Altho, I've come across a few out of sync files. I just got rid of them.

Well you dont have to.

But, this depends on whether Nero gives you the DVD option.

Altho, there are free alternatives that do this as well

what are the free ones? it only seems to be this particular avi file, which plays perfectlly in sync in wmp, or nero showtime......weird

662406 2008-04-25 09:08:00 WHAT was the original format of this file? Was it AVI?

Since you were using Movie Maker, did you use MM to import this video from an external source (like a video camera)?

If you did, did you transfer the video using USB 2 or firewire??

If USB 2, that could be why its out of sync.

Is the AVI file out of sync??

If it is, I doubt burning it with any program to DVD will make any diff.

If the original file is out of sync, the burned copy will probably be out of sync as well

662407 2008-04-25 13:10:00 orginal file was an avi. the avi plays perfect, its the mastering to dvd with nero that screws up. when i said movie maker i meant nero vision, not windows mm, i cudnt think of the correct name at the time - my bad. aidanmaz (7180)
662408 2008-04-25 19:09:00 Try DVDFlick (http://www.dvdflick.net/). I've never had a problem with it getting out of sync. 4bes (2848)
