| 663520 | 2008-04-28 11:32:00 | Hi appreciate your advice tips for next PC I buy to last at least the next 3-4 years. General user requirements: - Box only required - Key uses: surfing net, ripping music (want to do this fast), watching DVDs, basic office applications. - Want to store lots of music and photos on PC - have 160 GB ipod player. - Like to run several applications at same time, ripping music and surfing web etc Current research indicates to go for XP OS, at least 2 GB RAM, and I think at least 300 GB HDD (as this is currently cheap). Regarding processors no idea what to go for but would think at least 3GHZ? Also not sure who would be a good provider or supplier. Am based in Wgtn but happy to deal with reputable suppliers from outside of Wgtn? Would probably go for NZ made as branded PCS tend to be about 30-40% dearer. Appreciate your comments. MANY THANKS |
