| 663357 | 2008-04-28 08:59:00 | Hi all. My laptop has a dodgy battery, it just cut out and the laptop went dead. I've just restarted it, it did its scan and everything seams ok..... almost. (XPpro, Mozilla) When I ran Mozilla if started fine but the bookmarks were gone, both the bookmark tabs and main listing. Todays history is still there. Any ideas?? Thanks |

Firefox makes a copy of your bookmarks automatically, keeps about 5 copies from memory, to loacte them do this -- Double click " My computer" on the desktop, up top, under the Tools/Folder options / View tab, select " show hidden files and Folders" Click OK. ( if you dont show the folders you wont locate the bookmarks.) Next with my computer open, double click the C: drive, then follow this path / folders. C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\ApplicationData\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx .default. / BookmarkBackups In there will be your backed up Bookmarks, copy the folder/bookmarks to another location. To replace the profile ---Go to this page (support.mozilla.com)--- Cant be bothered writing it all out - Lazy eh! Then import your backed up bookmarks from the folder you copied before. To do that, open Firefox, click bookmarks / Organize Bookmarks / then File/import bookmarks. |
